Spencer founded Hill Asset Management in 1993, to provide business owners, professionals, and individual investors a concentrated source for their financial needs with the belief a financial services firm cannot replace their clients’ accountants and lawyers, but they can enhance those relationships by offering strategies and ideas on how to improve their clients’ financial lives. He has dedicated himself to building strong relationships with and for his clients over the last twenty-eight years in the investment brokerage arena.

A graduate University of South Carolina with a triple major in Finance, Entrepreneurial Management, and  Management Science(Operations Research). Spencer is the past Chairman of the Williamsburg County (SC) Planning Commission and a former board member of South Carolina Lions Charitable Services. He has helped with land acquisitions for conservation purposes for Wildlife Action, an outdoorsmen conservation group whose mission is to educate our future sportsmen. To Spencer community service is important, we have to "put back more than we take”.

Spencer has a son, W. S. "Wes" Hill III, who is out and on his own, and his sister, Griffith, a high school senior, who he works for. He is married to Cheryl Lockhart who is a Lt Col in the USAF. When not spending time with them, he  loves to be in the outdoors fishing, hunting, or paddling.
